Who can say they got a thumbs up from Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent? This guy right here. His name is John, and I knew him many moons ago. He has one of the most unique talents I’ve ever seen—he sings backwards. Yep, you heard that right.

Sometimes life feels a bit like that—backwards. But things aren’t always what they seem. It might feel like God isn’t listening, or like your prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling. But make no mistake—God hears you. There is never a moment when He’s not working, even when it seems like He’s silent.

So, if things feel a little backwards right now, take comfort in knowing that God is always at work, weaving something beautiful behind the scenes—something you may not see yet, but will one day look back on and realize He never left your side.

Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” John 5:17

Book Buzz

Since releasing Hidden Heartache, I’ve had some powerful conversations with women who are carrying heartache in silence. If someone in your life needs a reminder that she’s not alone, here’s a free peek at the first four chapters. 💜

I’d love to hear how Hidden Heartache has met you in your own story. If a certain chapter spoke to you—or if you simply felt seen in the pages—hit reply and let me know. Your words mean more than you know.

Here’s what Lisa Allen, author of Your Confidence Compass: From Self-Doubt to Self-Leadership, had to say:

Hidden Heartache feels like a daily roadmap to help you journey toward wholeness and healing after the devastation and disappointments associated with pornography, betrayal, and divorce. Jody’s authentic story allows you to feel like you have a best friend, yet expert to guide you through your own process for healing and hope. Jody’s use of God’s Word and prayer is the spiritual nourishment needed to take each step.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ~Isaiah 40:31

Kindred Connections

The introvert in me wanted to stay home, but I knew I needed to put myself out there in the writing world. So, I signed up for a writers conference—and went alone. Somehow, I met Rosann Coulon. We decided to grab dinner together that night, and we’ve been sharing lunch dates and life ever since. That was three years ago.

Her new devotional, 40 Days to God, My Father, just released last month. It’s a beautiful journey into the heart of God as our Father. Whether you had the best dad in the world or a complicated relationship with yours, Rosann’s words gently remind us of our Heavenly Father’s unwavering love for us.

And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” ~2 Corinthians 6:18

Favorite Things

If there’s peanut butter in it, I’m for it. I love all things peanut butter. My favorite thing this time of year? Reese’s Easter Eggs. There’s something magical about the way they balance chocolate and peanut butter—somehow better than the regular cups.

If you haven’t tried one lately, do yourself a favor and grab a few. They’re happiness in a wrapper. And if you’re a bargain hunter, wait until after Easter and snag them on sale. Your taste buds will thank you.

This is my favorite peanut butter. Enjoy! 🥜

As we celebrate the hope of Easter, be reminded that His resurrection power lives in you too.

Until next time,

Jody
